I don't normally read Stephen King, because I'm too big of a wuss for his typical horror fare. But this book was more sci-fi than horror, and it concerned two of my favorite subjects, time travel and the Kennedys.

It's the story of high school teacher Jake Epping, who is told by the owner of his favorite diner, Al, that the diner is a wormhole to 1958. Al had made it his life's mission to stick around five years to prevent the Kennedy assassination, but when he realizes lung cancer will take his life before he completes his mission, he asks Jake to take over. So Jake begins his own journey into the Land of Ago, where he of course faces many obstacles on the road to his goal, largely because the past doesn't want to be changed and will throw in any wrench it can to prevent anybody from changing it.

This book was incredibly LONG, but interesting and well-written. A good start to the year.
