This was a wonderful book to read. I had to read it slowly because it was so emotion filled. The core of this book is summed up in this quote, "It was the idea of the Moral Law. Our sense that some things are right and some things are wrong affirms a standard of morality beyond ourselves." We can not be, unless God wants to TO BE. There was a touch of romance in this book that sweetened the story. This quote about life rings true; "The longer I live, the less I know, and the less I know, the more I realize that even the brightest people are still a pallor of pea brains when it comes to understanding God." The characters in this book were rich and fully colored. I enjoyed the writing style of this author.
