I know, reading a cookbook? But I have read the entire Hannah Swensen series, and in each recipe, not only are there directions, but there are little comments from the characters in the book, and this had a plot, where it's a cookie party and Hannah is baking cookies and everyone wants her recipes, so she prints them all out and puts them in a binder for her friends...and her fat cat is still attacking her at the door, she's still got Mike and Norman vying for her attention, her mother is still her mother, the rest of Lake Eden makes short but sweet appearances....and the recipes are good. I've tried some from the books...but it's really nice to have them all in one place.
