like all jp books at present the chapters were short so book seemed to end quickly
there was I feel too much going on- too many storylines. I know it is about the agency and with so many operatives there will be many cases but did we need to know about all of them. Was hard to reemember at times what the case involved (for the background ones anyway.
the main plot of Jack being in the frame for murder- the way that was handledI was not impressed with. inso far as you come into a scene where obviously been set up as the criminal. then you have your agency spend couple hours looking at evidence before calling the police- is that not going to make you look more guilty and why act so surprised that they want you in jail.
also he didn't necessarily seem to concentrate on the case and when did was too simple to solve.
Also he new the chief of police and mayor etc who though it was looking like open shut case and the public was aware of it still try and hel him- politicions-would they do that- yes maybe if wasn't in public eye but once was then they wouldn't risk their careers.
Also was interesting that everyone that should hate him afteer initially beating him up believed him when he started talking though no evidence shown or anything more concrete then him saying he didn'tt do it and he wouldn't be so stupid. And mmaybe at a push you would think they would stop the beating and say we will give you a benift of the doubt and see what happens but they have drink with him and discuss it- how far fetched
I enjoyed the pace which gave me a surfae enjoyment but there was no depth and you couldn't really call it a thriller or crime. Just felt like some short stories (the individual cases) being put together to make a book for jp to make more money
