Well, I should have known, I ordered the sample after finishing Cinder, and got to chapter 5 and was like, wait I need more. Then I found a sample book of several dystopian novels and got 4 more chapters. I knew I was buying this book at the end of that. I also pre-ordered the second in the series. I liked how the characters developed, thought for themselves, and made important decisions so early in life. At sixteen, I would have chosen whatever faction got me away from my parents, at 26 whatever got me closer to my parents. So funny how perspective changes. I am as always with these novels, kind of thinking, "There but the for Grace of God go us." I do like these strong heroines that make our daughters think they can do anything they want, and teach them there are always losses with those choices.
