Jessica is a runner. She loves it more than anything, and it shows. She is a track star but she also runs for fun, whenever possible. So, when she loses her leg below the knee after a car accident, she thinks her life is pretty much over.

This book is a fascinating look at how a young girl copes with such a traumatic loss and change of lifestyle. Seems to be a very realistic progression through the phases of loss, grieving, and acceptance. What's more remarkable is how she comes to accept her new leg and new lifestyle, and how she reaches out to others because of it.

Great book!
