Wanda How is this one, Sandybanks? I have a copy downloaded; however, I am not ready to make the reading commitment just yet. Perhaps over the Summer.

Sandy Tjan It's enjoyable enough, but really long! It seems that this is just a straightforward war epic without much depth, unlike comparable Russian ones.

But it's an interesting glimpse into 16th century Polish history and culture, which I know nothing about.

Wanda Oh, so it has none of the vitality and drama of War and Peace; but, rather it reads like a high school textbook - informational and "I wish this were a bit more exciting". I'll still give it a go!
