Fairly typical and unrealistic.
I liked Kyle, but I wanted to see more of his home life. Wanted to see more of the mother who apparently made his life a living hell and made him so awkward, afraid to be noticed, etc.
I'm torn about the romance. I just don't see it as realistic. The level in which Brad holds at school, I really doubt how easily he made a move on Kyle, etc. Also, Kyle tells a teacher some really intense things and I just do not believe that the teacher would ignore it. He'd at the very least call child services.
I'm also sick of reading teenagers give long moral speeches about "differences." It just does not happen.
A really easy read, though.
