it was amazing
Read from January 01 to 02, 2012

Quite honestly, I had a hard time trying to decide whether this book deserves four stars or five. Finally, I decided to go whole hog simply because the heroine, Lt. Jacqueline "Jack" Daniels, rids herself (and future readers) of one of the villains who has been dogging her through several previous books. Frankly, it's about time. Although the action is fast-paced, the plots are well thought out and I've had a hard time putting down any of Konrath's books including this one, watching Daniels get the stuffing knocked, kicked and shot out of her time and time again and come out of it without having to take so much as an aspirin was starting to get a bit old (as is she, at age 47, for goodness sake).

There are two books remaining in the series so far, and I fully expect some other dastardly do-badder will fill in the gap. Even though Daniels has made some major changes in her life (spill the beans? Not me!), she'll probably continue to be physically tougher than nails until she's 90. And you know what? Lord willin' and the creek don't rise, I'll still be around to enjoy the heck out of reading about it.
