Although I am not a dog lover, I enjoyed reading about Red Dog. The discription of life in an isolated mining town in Australia is facinating. Through the dog we get to meet the characters who settle in these places. The dog is a rogue but a lovable creature. He certainly seemed to have a mind of his own.

This is a short book and easy to read. My husband will read it next and then it will go to my daughter who is planning a trip to Australia this year.
