I greatly enjoyed the Alchemist. Many people have commented on how simple the wording is in this book, but the level of the words used does not detract from the book itself. It is an enjoyable and quick read that can be enlightening in many ways.

The story begins with a young shepherd making his way across southern Spain. He has always enjoyed his life and the direction he has taken, but there comes a crux in his path after he seeks help interpreting a reoccurring dream and a chance meeting with an old man. In the following pages, our main character is tested to see how far he is willing to go to achieve what he comes to call his personal legend. The story is an uplifting look at what each person is capable of and how we can all chose to be an active participant in our personal legends.
