A pretty good mash-up; it adds vampires to the story of Abraham Lincoln, but it doesn’t seem forced to me; it was more like “we don’t know every single moment of Abe’s life, who’s to say he didn’t slay vamps in his spare time?” Despite the obvious fictional nature of the book, it actually doesn’t seem so out there, or as if it’s parodying the life of Abraham Lincoln; It’s not a barrel full of laughs, so be forewarned on that at least. To be honest, there were a few times like I felt the story sagged a little, like it was filler episodes until Abe got married…became prez…Emancipation Proclamation etc, but these instances were rare, and it was great once it picked back up again. I liked the book very much in the end, when all was said and done, (view spoiler)
