I really liked seeing how Westerfeld imagined the world being after the events of the first three books in the series. I'm not sure if it's because I read most of the books in such close proximity, but I was a little burnt out while I read this one; it didn't have the same "couldn't put it down" quality of the others. The philosophical issues in this one aren't treated with as much depth as in the others; he never fully broaches the idea that the post-Tally society is also fraught with problems (aside from humanity ruining the earth which he really drills into the reader's head).
