Another great John Grisham book! A young lawyer, David Zinc has been working 80 hours a week doing research at a big corporate office. He is burned out and stressed out. He has a melt down on his way into the office, leaves and spends the day at a local bar. On his way home, he sees an ad for a lawyers office specializing in drunk driving and decides to have the cab driver drop him off. He steps into the shabby office and he tells the receptionist he wants a job. He realizes he spent the last 5 years doing research and has no particular skills. It's a huge step down but he believes he will be happy in this little office. The two partners in the office and the receptionist bicker constantly. They make little money and Wally, the junior partner is always looking for a quick scheme to make 'big bucks'. He stumbles across a client who claims his father died because of a cholesterol lowering drug. Wally decides to pursue the claim. The lawsuit goes to trial but the drug company's legal representative is a high priced lawyer from David's old office who hasn't lost a case in 8 years. Grisham uses a bit of humor in this book which adds to the story. It's entertaining and the reader is certainly steered towards hoping the underdog wins the big case.
