A series of short stories that are interconnected via characters (the boss of one woman, the teenage friend of that boss, the daughter of another character, etc.), A Visit From the Good Squad reminds me just a tad of The Imperfectionists in structure. It's good read that draws you in and only a few times are you left wondering (at first) who the character in a story is. Egan also successfully experiments with form later on, and takes the stories into the future in a mildly speculative fashion, rather than full sci-fi mode. So, yes: liked it.
