It took me awhile to get into this week. But once I really got into it, I started to fall in love with the premise and the little town of Commonwealth.

Not only was this book super heartbreaking, it was also a very though-provoking piece on how normal people react when faced with dire circumstances. While I enjoyed the book, I had a hard time liking the main protagonist, Phillip. His actions throughout the majority of the novel really infuriated me. While I understand he's supposed to be a teenager, I still had a hard time liking the character.

But, at the same time, the novel was very well written and the characters were very easy to care about. I had a hard time with the ending, but that's just the way it is I guess.
