Three young wizards, Marianne, Jack, and Dalton are being trained by the old, yet wise wizard, Kalstaff. Each of these young wizards must choose a 'familiar' to accompany them through their life's adventures and magical training. That's when Aldwyn, a young, frisky, street-wise alley cat, joins Gilbert, a bumbling, yet loveable tree-frog and Skyler a snooty blue-jay. However, the training takes a dangerous and deadly turn when Queen Loranella shows up and kills Kalstaff and captures the three young wizards. Her intent?...to eliminate the only real threat standing in her way of absolute power. You see, Marianne, Dalton, and Jack are 'the prophesized three.' Or are they?

The familiars realize they are the only ones left to rescue and save the young wizards. But, they only have three days to do it...since that is how long the power of protection that Kalstaff conjured is good for. Their adventure takes them far away from home, facing deadly dangers, both human and otherworldly. The Familiars don't know if they will make it in time, but they will give all they've got to be, once again, reunited with their loyals.

Andrew Jacobson Hi, I'm one of the authors of The Familiars. I see that you have marked my book as to-read. Now would be a great time to catch up on the first book and its sequel, Secrets of the Crown, in paperback or e-reader. You can find them in bookstores everywhere or on-line! Thanks.
