This is definitely a feel-good book. Although I found the conclusion predictable and too tidy, it still registered as satisfying to my less critical eye. It was also nice to read a book set in Australia. I think that most early teenage girls will enjoy it, but I have to admit that I'm surprised by all of the zealous praise the novel's been getting from critics and library journals. I expected the book to be somewhat better.
