Another free treat from Karen Chance, a longer novella this time. This one is available for free both from her website or from smashwords. It's definitely for fans only, as she actually warns herself at the beginning of the story (she also warns about spoilers, so pay attention to that if you haven't read all of the books yet); she doesn't take the time to introduce the characters or settings, she assumes the reader is familiar with everything. But if you are a fan, you're sure to enjoy it, it's very much a slice right out of Cassie and Pritkin's world. It's a nice long story, so it's able to explore elements of the usual danger and adventure plus some things about Pritkin's family history, some interesting and funny parts with Casanova, and much more. It was just a good story. It's nice of the author to offer it for free, it's the kind of story than many authors would sell for a few dollars, and it's substantial enough that it would be worth it.
