I hate to say that I disliked "Reached", but it's the truth. I was actually rooting for Cassia to die by page 200. Everything just was way too predictable; I craved a plot twist. Everything felt dull and obvious, especially the romance. This is a book where there's a rebellion and I was bored... how does that happen?! I think there was just too much happening and there were a lot of things that were glazed over.
If you didn't figure this out yet, I totally lost interest in the characters. I think the multiple narration just told way too much and defused some of the tension in the book. Ally Condie kept trying to play up the love triangle and stir things up with new love interests, but we knew what everyone was thinking, so it just felt pointless. A romance which could have felt surprising was obvious; while, a sudden crush just felt ridiculous. By the end, I lost the love for the cast. I can't remember why I cared so much about Ky and Cassia in the previous book.
I loved "Matched", but was very disappointed by "Crossed" and "Reached". I wish I had stopped at "Matched". The two things I will give the series are great book covers and titles. I wish I enjoyed this series more. My recommendation to readers- if you were a huge fan of both books, or liked "Crossed" better than "Matched", read "Reached". If you were not as big of a fan of "Reached" then you might just want to quit while your ahead. Or just try it. You'll know fairly early on if you want to read the whole book.
