** spoiler alert ** This story takes place in Boston. I have never been there, but the author seemed to do a decent job with painting a visual picture of the place. After reading this book, I'm curious to visit there.
The writing is clever. If I were actually funny and could write, I’d love to write in this style. It starts out great and does a fantastic job of conveying the emotions of Josh, the main character. Josh is less than happy about the stress he is under. He responds interestingly under pressure. I only wish I could be so direct… There is wonderful use of profanity and plenty of it. I’d recommend this book to anyone who is feeling down or going through a break up. I was able to reflect on my own crappy life situation, with a bit of humor, while reading this. This story leaves me to wonder... if such drastic measures are what it takes, for one to have an actual 'heart to heart' with their significant other. I only own a rabbit, not a 3 legged Rottweiler, so perhaps I am out of luck. I‘d consider this ‘a light read’. There is no big plot or surprising outcome. I appreciated that everything comes full circle by the end. I would like to read more by this author, maybe something with a bit more intrigue…
