Recommended for: Summer readers - not much thought...

This was a good summer read - style book. It was easy and fast and slightly predictable. I didn't believe in the characters that much and I questioned their decisions. I felt like they were more stereotypes rather than rich people that I was invested in. I didn't have as much sympathy for them as I believe the author intended. I can tell this was the authors' first attempt. I didn't mind all of this while I was reading the story, however the final pages just totally fell flat. It reminded me of an attempt at a modern Crime and Punishment, but without the follow-through. In the end the characters act out of character and the climax feels like something I've seen on Law&Order SVU.

My recommendation: Skip it and read Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky.
