I really enjoyed this book. Not only is it an inspiring story, but it also lets us peek into the world of ultra-runners. Until now, I considered those people to be crazy, or at least a little unhinged. Frankly, Mr. McDougall's book does show that some of them are at least a little crazy, but in a charming way. Mr. McDougall describes people who not only are super-competitors, but also compassionate human beings who really love to run. I've only been running for about 2 years and only competing in 5K's. But the book's description of the running community rings true. Every time I run a race, someone asks, "Did you have fun?" or goes out of their way to talk to me.

This book makes me want to try longer races and has me thinking about my stride. Thank you for opening up this new world and letting us get a glimpse of another side of running.
