Not sure I like this as much as Ms. Singh's Psy-Changling series, as it took a little more to get into. However, it kinda grew on me as I continued to read.

World building, as I've come to expect from Ms. Singh, is excellent. The characters intriguing. The plot line interesting. I'll certainly be reading the next in the series and hopefully it will continue to grow on me.

The idea of angel's creating vampires, and said angels then ruling over sectors of land, is an odd one, but it does work in this book. The Hunters are an interesting twist, human but not quite, more of a genetic anomaly than anything else if I'm reading the story correctly. Not a rogue vamp as the villain in this one, but a rogue archangel, and that twist did intrigue.

All in all, strong book with a lot of promise.
