I flowed into this volume after reading "The Hotel Eden"; it was a smooth transition from quirky situations of Carlson to extreme situations of Carver. I particularly liked the title story, Gazebo, Sacks, The Bath, After the Denim, and The Third Thing That Killed My Father Off. Quite a dark collection often involving alcohol, death and failed relationships.
