Burke again gives the reader a very well-written mystery. The main charcters are absorbing, intelligent, and strong. Hack Holland, Texan sheriff and his
deputy, Pam Tibbs. Alot of violence is my caution. Maniacal killers sometimes
intrude and lessen enjoyment. The Texan desert mountain landscape is awe-
inspiring and also a main character.
