I'm torn with this novel. On the one hand I loved the imagery, the style Morgenstern used and she even had some quote worthy lines. However, I don't know if I read too fast or if it was the break I took in between reading this book but I didn't feel the drama or any strong passion from this book other than a scene between the two magicians at a party. I'm sure many people would agree that it was a bit anticlimactic.

Maybe this was due to me trying to discern where the story was going and when it finally presented itself I had already glossed over it. Hmmm, this book is hard to call. I expected more romance, maybe some kind of climax and to be left with a feeling of being blown away. I just feel like "blah". I definitely would like to see a movie made just to see the tents but as I read, I couldn't figure out how to translate the story structure on screen without losing its unique qualities.

I really don't know know what else to say....
