Mib Beaumont is about to turn thirteen and find out the nature of her savvy, the magical power that each member of her family acquires when they reach thirteen. Two days before her birthday, Mid's father is in a serious car wreck miles away. Desperate to reach her ailing father, Mibs, two of her brothers, and the preacher's kids stow away on the bus of a bible salesman.

When the bus heads off in the opposite direction, Mibs must discover her savvy and herself.

I thought this was a sweet book that would appeal to the preteen set. Don't we all wish we had a little savvy?
