Fascinating perspective on Dickens, an author with rock star status in the U.S. and abroad. He dies before writing the last episode of "Edwin Drood," therefore depriving his publishers and the public of an ending to the story. His U.S. publisher sets out to divine just how Dickens' story may have ended. The resulting pursuance carries him and his distaff assistant to Europe and through plenty of intrigue an excitement.

A revealing look at the 19th Century publishing business, the only mass media of its time.
