really liked it

they make movies out of the guy's books for a reason . . i'm completely impressed with mezrich's ability to craft such compelling narrative from the fragments of interviews, source documents, etc. . . of course, he not only can write well, but he has a nose for just the kind of story that works like this, social network, 21, etc. . . as one character in this book puts it: "i wish i was the smart m--f--er that thought of that!" . . well, mezrich has a way of locating said smart mfers and is thereby one of them himself . . i would give the book a 5, cuz its certainly that enjoyable, but thematically there's nothing super-lasting happening . . the thing i most get out of it is what i was just talking about: that there's always a way to "game the system," to use your particular gifts to do what you love, get over big, etc. . . reminds me a bit in that way of *ghost in the wires* by kevin mitnick . . a similar story (and similarly super-enjoyable and quick) . . anyway, great read - -
