Planet Earth is dying. Amy's parents are important people at the top of the list, needed in the making of a new civilization on a new planet. Not wanting to separate the family, Amy joins them in "freezing" themselves so that they will be alive but technically asleep for 300 years till Godspeed, the ship reaches the new planet. But someone jolts Amy from her freezing slumber 50 years early. Someone tried to kill her. She discovers the frightening difference in situation from her home. With making unexpected friends with Elder the future leader of Godspeed and discovering terrifying secrets Eldest (the leader) has hidden from the people Amy also discovers that she cannot be refrozen to rejoin her parents and be a family with them again on the new planet. She does not expect to fall in love, and be ever so intrigued by the mystery laid before her: why someone tried to kill her.
