Really different than I expected. I loved the kids. I was surprised by the mother-in-law. Not sure even male stupidity could explain Jack's idiocy at times. But considering all the traumatic things he'd been through himself not even counting the wife and kids, I guess it makes it more understandable. I never quite connected with Jack and Tony. I didn't understand their relationship or motivation. I wanted Tony to stay, but more for the kids than their relationship. The scene with the mother, Brandon, and the cops was one of the most chilling things I've ever read. The Last chapter seemed disjointed and rushed. I didn't dislike the story, but it seemed choppy and not as well written as I've come to expect from this author.
