Read from December 27, 2011 to January 21, 2012

I got this book for free through First Reads. I liked this book; the story line was different than most books that I read. I feel like there was good character development and that the development continued even after the story ended. We learn where some of the characters ended up years later and it is left to the imagination as to how they got there. As for the actual story, it was sophisticated without requiring too much concentration and thought. There was no "fluff" so to speak, each chapter seemed to have a purpose in the story and it felt that there were no passages in the story that were unnecessary. Very good book.

Jessica Keener Hi, Jen. Thanks for this. Could you tell me what First Reads is? I should know but I don't! Thanks. Jessica

Jen It is just the giveaways. I'm not sure why it's called that, but I guess that is the actual name that is used for the giveaways. There is also something in the rules that says anyone who receives a book through the giveaway has to state that they received the book for free and, I believe, have to include from where.

Jessica Keener Oh, so you won my book? Anyway, thank you so much for your review and comments. Much appreciated. Best, Jessica

Jen Essentially, yes I won the book. There are a lot of giveaways and you can enter whichever ones you want. There is a brief description of the book given and I usually enter for any book that sounds interesting to me. I have no clue how it is decided who gets the books, but I have been fortunate enough to receive books that I have really wanted to read.

As for the review, it was my pleasure. I really did enjoy your book and am thankful to have received it.

Jen
