I really enjoyed this biography of Daniel Boone. With thorough research, the author does a great job of separating myths and facts surrounding Boone's life. The author describes the incredible hardships that the settlers had to endure and reminds us 21st century people that 18th century living was extremely difficult. He also gives a LOT of credit to the strong women who followed their husbands into the wilderness and the incredible strength and courage it took for them to survive multiple childbirths, indian attacks, lack of medicine and the everyday, plain hard work that keeps a family together in the wilderness. Boone was an incredible man who also had flaws, but to the end, he was a man of honor.
