I was not aware that the Creationist vs Evolution controversy was the hot topic that it is today. Having a biology degree and having lived in Portland most of my life, I assumed that most people were like me and accepted evolution as incontrovertible. I was sorely wrong.

If anyone is interested in the ongoing battle between Creationism/Religion/Intelligent Design and science, then I highly suggest reading this book. The court case occurred in 2005 in Dover, PA. The school board wanted to bring in "Of Pandas and People," a creationist "science" book to be taught side by side next to the dragonfly science book that depicted evolution. Many science teachers balked at the idea and fought back. The resulting battle was a huge milestone in the battle to keep science and public education free of religion, and it happened mere years ago. This is some serious, scary stuff.

If you have any concern of the constant push towards a theocracy as well as the Dominion agenda, then I highly suggest adding this book to your collection. If you are interested in evolution as well as learning some of the arguments that go on in both camps, then I also highly suggest this book.
