Web Style Guide is not a bad book by any means but there's little reason to read anything over a decade old on web design. While some pieces are timeless–I found the opening chapter on project management to be immensely useful, for instance–there's simply too many references to outdated technology or problems that mar the work's applicability. It would be wiser to consult the web itself or a more recent O'Reilly volume on the same topic.

Traxy Thornfield The 3rd edition is from 2008 and doesn't seem to be too outdated.
