Elise is having a hard time adjusting to middle school and trying to fit in. Living with her loving aunt and uncle since her mother died at childbirth and her father died of cancer when she was 3, she leads a relatively happy life, although she only really has one good friend and he is a bit of an oddball (Asperger's-like characteristics). A lovely story about love, loss, and fitting in during that hairy time--the middle school years.
