really liked it
bookshelves: adventures-actioned, fantastical, fluff, modernized, realistic, series, twists, mythical
Read from December 18 to 20, 2011

Some of the turns were a little predictable - probably just from being used to Riordan's style and also reading the summary for Son of Neptune (hehe). Over all, a great concept. I love how the new is incorporated with the old - I was a little worried about this when I heard about the new series. Piper and Jason took a little to warm up to me, mostly because Percybeth are just awesome & none can compare. I love Leo though! He is the epitome of a Riordan character. As always, the humor & incorporation of mythology into modern day life was superbly done. It only got four of five because it dragged a little and I'm hoping each book in the series improves!
