I did NOT expect to like this book, it was chosen for a book club that I am in, it is chic lit and that is NOT a genre that i favor. The book was okay, I was actually surprized. I had LOW expectations because of the genre so maybe that was why it went over better than I expected. It was a slower reading book for me, not one that i was hot to read BUT i finished it and it wasn't stupid like Jennifer Weiner's book GIB.
It was almost anti-fairy tale. Don't want to say too much and give away the ending but it was going along almost fairy-tal-ish and then all of a sudden it turned into the anti-fairytale. It is not a book I would read again...BUT if my book club picked the sequel to it I might pick it up just out of curiosity if I needed a filler book between my "favored" genres. I would read it, but I would not buy it though so that should tell you something. I would recommend it to others that I know are "into" this genre but certainly NOt to others like me ...more
