Much better than the first book. Really, the two should probably have been one book. This one fleshed out some things that seemed left out of the first book.
Still, some things really irked me. The first chunk of the book was straight up recap. It wasn't built well into the story at all. I skipped pages at a time without feeling like I missed anything at all. Recap is fine and good (and needed in a series), but I don't want to read the cliffs notes to the entire first book. Just give us some brief reminders in with the new plot.

Otherwise though, things picked up some and I'm enjoying Scout's character. The main character, Lilly, is a little flat, but I enjoy her sarcasm. The dialog between her and Scout is humorous.
The plot is keeping me interested with just enough info to figure stuff out with the characters instead of being able to predict "twists" lightyears ahead. I'm intrigued by the mystery with Lilly's parents and I honestly don't know what's happening there.
