2.5 stars because I still don't know how I really feel about this story. Besides, that's half of 5. I guess I'm still in shock. This story starts with a scene of Nicholas and his brothers during The Calling. You'll get a VERY graphic picture of how the rest of this book is going to be.

I have a kinky side, but this story just kind of obliterated my thoughts on kink. If you already have an aversion to kinky f*ckery or BDSM stories, then this story IS NOT for you!

The only thing I can applaud about this odd tale, is the historical plot/use of myths. I can honestly say that I have never read anything like this before. This series is extremely graphic! Double phalluses, erotic XXX, m/f/f, f/f, m/f, sacrifices involving sex, dirty language, dirtier deeds, murder plots, etc.

I've listed a few things from the book below, and I labeled them, "the kinky", "the bad" and "the ugly". Since they are spoiler-ish, I've hidden them. Click at your own risk :)

Nicholas is undeniably a stud (ha ha!), but I couldn't connect with the characters. He's too rigid emotionally withdrawn, and the rubbish his father had told him about women certainly warped his view. Jane was a bit of a pushover. I'm not sure if I'll continue the series; it will probably depend on my mood or curiosity. I looked ahead at the next one and saw something about hermaphrodite/faerie brides. Yeah, I'm not sure if I want that much par-ab-normal right now.

Sandra so, it's safe to say I shouldn't bother with this one? y/fy?

MsRomanticReads Well, it's just too weird for my liking. I found little about it to be the good kind of erotic, IYKWIM. Did you by any chance click on my "spoiler" link to see exactly why I think this book is strange?

Sandra Sure did. And yours is not the only review that brought those points up...staying far away from this one. Double-dicking or not.

Bwa-hahahaha! I don't think this is your cup of tea; at all.

Sandra Holy shit, this was published in Germany too.

>.<

MsRomanticReads Um. The Germans are quite a kinky lot so they'd probably enjoy this. Since I'm European and from that area, I'm speaking from experience. Thought I'd add that in case someone accuses me of not being PC.

MsRomanticReads Hehe. Let's face it, I learned A LOT from RTL, SAT 1 and PRO 7 in my days *cough*

Dear Dr. Sommer.

My boyfriend and I made out two weeks ago, and he rubbed his pelvis against me down there. When he left, there was a huge wet spot on his jeans, and on mine. What caused that?

Clueless in Munich

MsRomanticReads ROFL! Yup, exactly right that! I remember I read every single column whenever it came out. Do you remember, I think it was Bravo that also eventually released those little paperbacks with love stories. I remember buying some back then. They were YA but they definitely "went there" in those stories.

I never bought those. The columns were a hoot, though. ;)
