If you liked The Hunger Games, you'll love Hunted.

Hunted is an intense read from start to finish, packing the trifecta of awesome you want in a paranormal dystopian novel: action, suspense, romance. There are no slow parts to Caitlyn’s story–the ride is taut with suspense and action, and the even pacing will keep you reading. Cheryl Rainfield scores big for originality, lending believability to the paranormal world she so seamlessly creates in Hunted. She also gets high points for characterization, giving her characters the kind of depth that make you feel like you know them personally.

Caitlyn’s struggles are real, despite the paranormal setting, and the message of acceptance, equality, and overcoming diversity is strong without being overpowering. I never once found myself flipping forward to skip boring parts–because there were none.

Hunted is the kind of book that would make a good movie–the depth and complexity of the story and characters are the perfect foundation for the message in Caitlyn’s struggles.
