it was amazing
bookshelves: informational-text, mentor-texts
Read in December, 2011

"Imagine being surrounded by thick walls of green plants. All around you are roots, vines, bushes, and trees."

So begins Simon's imaginative look at some of the most mysterious places on earth, written in an engaging way and full of beautiful photographs to keep any reader, any age, deeply engrossed.

Who says informational text is boring? This (or any of his many books) would be a wonderful mentor text for how to write expository without putting your audience to sleep.

Highly recommended.
