This book is about a girl who has to move to the United States and has to learn to adapt to the new surrounding. Her mom is still back where they came from and the students and teacher help raise money so that the mother can join her children again.
I would read this book to students because it can teach they that just because someone looks different, it doesn't mean they are different than you. It also teaches kindness and an idea of what children can do to help others.
