I remember I bought this book a year or two ago after being seduced by this book's gorgeous cover, the conceit of cooking + poetry, and the lovely, strange first poem ("Artichoke"). But I didn't enjoy this collection as much as I hoped; some of the poems end up floundering in abstraction and many feel too much like a PG, poeticized retelling of Anthony Bourdain's raucous kitchen stories.
