Melie feels like she has two mothers, Rosy Mother who is sweet and attentive, and Dark Mother who is critical and abusive. She began creating rituals to protect her from her mother's darkness, but as she matures from child to teen, the rituals grow more complex, but no longer give her an outlet for her own pain. Melie's mother won't change, and it is up to Melie to find the strength to break free.
