I found this book to be a great read. It was exactly what I was expecting and hoping for, plus a little more. It had intrigue, suspense, mystery and of course magic! Along side that you got characterization, moral dilemmas and a love story of a very peculiar kind.
As with many books like this I love it... and then it gets to the ending. But instead of a cheap, easy out ending I felt that it was quite good. At least seemed plausible inside the context of the world that had been set-up and has a wonderful tie back to the complete the story.

What I thought made this book fantastic was it's setting. The mood it places you in is so well done. I felt like I was right there walking through the circus with them, entering a new weird tent or trying to figure out how a trick was done. Just darn good writing is really what it comes down to.
