really liked it
bookshelves: nonfiction
Read from December 14 to 21, 2011

Diane Keaton was on Ellen last week and Ellen went on and on about how great this book was, and I like Diane Keaton, even though the characters she plays are a little wacky, so I got the book. It was good. It's about her life, but its about the people in her life as well. Its mostly made up of letters and journal entries that her mother wrote and that she wrote. She sets it up so that you get to read her mother's work and her work during the same time period. Like you can compare what was going on in her mom's life the same time something is going on in Diane's life. It made me want to start writing in my journal again.
It made me a little sad. I kind of felt like her mother was a very lonely person dispite the fact that she was married with 4 kids. Kind of made me wonder what my mother is thinking and feeling.
She talks about Woody Allen a lot, and while I always found him odd and maybe a little creepy, he seems like he's probably a great friend. I think that even people who aren't fans of the author will enjoy this book. It just kind of makes you think.
