I really enjoyed this book. It also got better as it went on, which is always nice. I don't want to give anything away but I will say I could relate to the main character. It also made me teary and I appreciated that the story could move me like that. I liked reading about the time period it takes place in, and also the locations (Boston & West Hollywood!). I think there were some broad subjects addressed in a realistic way and not a preachy way. I think it is about survival and growing up, but also it was just an enjoyable read.
