Shadows in Flight (Shadow, #5)
by Orson Scott Card
by Orson Scott Card
This is another of the sort of follow up books to the Ender/Shadow series. It is a direct sequel to Shadow of the Giant. It follows Bean and his three antonine/leguminote children (meaning the children with the same genetic abnormality as Bean) on their near lightspeed flight through space. I didn't like it as much as I liked Ender in Exile, but it was definitely fun to read another story set in one of my favorite fictional universes. It felt more like experiencing a set length of time in their world than reading a story with a beginning, middle, and end. For the first half of the book, it wasn't very clear to me where the story was going to go. If it wasn't a book in the Enderverse, I'd probably only give it three stars, but when Ender is involved (even if it was only through Bean's son that was named after him), I can't help but enjoy it!
